The Noble Scholar, Shaikh Saalih Al Fawzaan mentions in his book entitled, “Loyalty and Disloyalty in Islaam” under the chapter,

“(The impermissibility of) Joining the Disbelievers in their holidays, helping them in establishing them, greeting them with the appropriate (holiday) greetings or attending (and observing) their holiday festivities.”

The statement of Allah the Most High,

وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الزُّورَ
And those who do not witness falsehood. [Al-Furqaan: 72]

Has been explained as meaning that from the characteristics of the servants of the Most Merciful (Allah), is that they do not attend, (partake, or observe) the holidays of the disbelievers.
