October 2nd, 2017
Shaykh Rabī‘ bin Hādī bin ‘Umayr al-Madkhaly
حكم المظاهرات ص 74
Abu Abdil-Haadee Khaleel Davis

The virtuous shaykh, shakhana Ash-Shaykh Rabi حفظه الله said:

It is upon the students of knowledge, and the common (body) of Muslims that they respect the scholars, for they are the inheritors of the Prophets1, and that they should return to them in the times of calamities, occurences, and dilemmas. Allaah The Most High said:

فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Ask the people of rememberance (i.e. knowledge) if it is that you don't know. [Noah: 7]

1 Reported by Abu Dawood, At-Tirmidhee and Ibn Hibbaan, and this is the wording found in his collection, in abridged form. Al-Bukhaaree also mentioned it in his Saheeh Collection in his Book of Knowledge, "Chapter: Knowledge Precedes Speech and Action", the part from it: “The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets.”
